Demolition Day.

Today Mark, Jesse, and I ripped apart our shed.  It was quite fun and HARD WORK!  Throwing a log through a window does wonders for pent up rage.  LOL.  We used many implements of destruction to rip up, dice up, smash up, and beat up the old termite infested shed.  It is now in a pile of rubble in the dirt.  My parents new RV now sits where the shed once stood.  We will build a new shed that will be further back, closer to the back fence.  I recorded a timelapse video of the proceedings.  Here’s a link to it.  Sorry about the ending photo flickering, Xvid is weird.

I am very sad to inform you that today, February 20^th 2006 at about 5:00PM, Tiger passed away. It was a horrible and tragic accident. I can’t even remember what I was doing when it happened. All I remember hearing is my dad saying that he accidentally ran over Tiger on our driveway. Tiger was walking from the neighbor’s yard to our driveway as he pulled in. It was an accident and accidents happen. I am so sad right now. I will admit that lately I have had thoughts of when Tiger would die and how. He was getting old. He was nearly 15 years old. I just figured he would die from old age. I will miss his playfulness, his wonderful personality and temperament, and of course his cute fatness. Words cannot describe how I feel right now. At times I want to cry and I am still shaking from the shock of this unfortunate event. Tiger was THE best cat we could have ever had. He was not just our pet, he was a family member. I can’t believe I will never again get to hold him and pet him. He would always get in the way of my projects in the garage and walk all over my stuff. I’ll miss that too. He kept me company when I was sad. He would love to sit in my lap when I watched TV in the garage. I will never forget Tiger. For all of you who knew Tiger personally or via his webcam, Tiger CAM, I am very sorry. I hope you all share with me your thoughts and wishes. We are having his remains cremated and we will get them back in a nice wooden box. We will burry Tiger in the backyard so a part of him will always be here.

If anybody has been sending me ICQ messages in the past month or so, I may have not received it.  ICQ changed their protocol a bit and it busted Trillian.  I found a fix for it.  It’s an update to a DLL file in Trillian.  You can find the fix here:

All is well again.

Not much going on lately.  Saturday, mom and dad had a guy come out and wax their motor home.  They tried waxing it themselves but that proved to be way too dificult and getting on the roof is scarry.  I went to Mark and David’s house along with Jesse.  We watched Corpse Bride and ate pizza.  Mark showed me video from his recient off-roading adventure.  I saw things happen to cars that are too pretty to be offroading.  Horrible things.

I setup a little test lab in the garage with 4 computers, 2 routers, and a switch with 4 vlans configured.  I created a fake corporate network called Widgets.com.  It’s got two 2003 domain controllers, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, some group policies, file server, 2 sites connected via point-to-point frame relay, and a remote office with a XP Pro client and a Linux client.  I still have to get Exchange e-mail going.  The computers all suck and it’s like pulling teeth to get it all working. oh well.

You know what I hate, Full Screen. My Birthday isn’t for about another month, but I sent my mom my Amazon.com wish list with the Wallace & Gromit 2 DVD Cracking Collector’s Set. It has 2 DVD’s in one set. One is the new Wallace & Gromit movie and the other is the old Wallace & Gromit trilogy. It’s not suposed to be out until the 7th, but it came today on the 6th. WOW. Here’s where the oops comes in. I neglected to ensure that the movie was the wide screen version. It’s not. There is a wide screen version available but only seperately; no box set has the wide screen version. GRR! So now I think I’ll have to send it back and get the two DVD’s seperately just to get the wide screen version of the movie. And that means I can’t open and watch the movie today even though I have it right here in my hands. It’s my fault for not reading the Amazon page more closely, but in my defense I would think that a “Collector’s Set” would have the widescreen version.
