Yes, it is April 1^st. No, this is not an April Fools joke. I really did buy a house! The prices for houses have dropped significantly these days and there are many foreclosures out there. I started looking for a house at the beginning of February. Now here we are 2 months later and I am supposed to close Escrow today. My realators showed me many houses. Some were absolutely horrible. These foreclosures and bank owned houses are generally trashed because the previous owners were not happy about the bank taking the house away. Here are the details on the house I bought:

• $305,000
• 1,881 square feet
• No Mello-Roos
• No HOA fees
• 4 bedroom (2 are master bedrooms up stairs)
• 3 full baths
• 2 car garage
• Laundry in garage
• Covered patio room
• Wood floors down stairs
• Living room
• Kitchen / Dinning room

It’s a “Fixer upper” house. That’s what I wanted. I didn’t want a house that was flipped already. This house needs A LOT of work too. It was missing light fixtures, had holes in the walls, was missing closet doors, the side door to the garage had large holes in it, and much much more. I think a bear mauled the garage side door. Either that or the cops busted it down. Here’s some before photos. At the moment it has already had the doors replaced, carpet replaced, fixtures installed, and new locks installed. I also put in a garage door opener since that was missing too. New pictures will follow soon.

Our renter neighbors across the street whom always always always park backwards ALWAYS, have managed to park 2 trucks, a van, and a VW Beetle in their 2 car driveway. I will never understand why they go through all that trouble to park backwards. For what? To leave 5 seconds faster?

Today, Saturday March 8th 2008, is my 27th birthday! Yay. Geez I’m old. Kinda weird. Mom and dad got me some tools for my Birthday.

I am so full of cake and food. My Aunt and Uncle took me out to Lunch with them, Mark, and Crisha. We went to Hometown Buffet. It was tasty. I like their bread pudding. Afterward I went over to Mark’s house and watched him change his oil in his car. That’s another story all together! This evening I went up to my friends’ house. We all went out to dinner. They took me to Souplantation. So now I am really really full of food.

Joe sent me a text message that stated, “Happy birthday will see you next weekend will get you somethign better than that monsterous failure.” … What does that mean? We were all confused. However once we got back to the house it became crystal clear what he meant. Joe had baked a massive cake and dropped it off at the house. Only the cake didn’t survive the car ride too well. hehe.

We all enjoyed the cake anyway. I have never had a more elaborate cake for my birthday before. Joe, Thanks for the cake and thanks for proving that The Cake is NOT a Lie! It’s just unstable and has imploded under its own gravitational force.
